Well dear friend, we’ve made it through a pretty gnarly stretch over the past three months. Our hearts are with those who have suffered and lost. While the work is far from over as we assess and test each new phase of re-opening, we want to remember that we also have things to celebrate like all of the courageous and creative minds that continue to keep us healthy, safe, fed, and connected. We give serious high-fives to parents, siblings, guardians and loved ones who got kiddos through a tough stretch of upheaval. We credit all of the educators out there for doing their very best to maintain educational support and emotional safety even as their work moved online. We acknowledge each of you for practicing your practice both on and off the mat as we’ve shifted and morphed over these past months. If there is one thought that captures how our minds have and can mend and motivate more readily, it would be: “If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.”
– Shunryu Suzuki
As this next enigmatic chunk of time elapses, we invite you to approach and embrace the unknown from the perspective of a beginner. We cannot go backwards but we can certainly grow forward with a mindset that allows for upsets, celebrations and all of the beautiful oops’ and messes in between.
We look forward to practicing online with you. Please refer to the online schedule as our July schedule will be coming out soon.
Sending Love-
Your TYC Tribe
