We hope that you had a lovely long weekend. Despite feeling wistful as the heat of the Summer dissipates and many schedules flip radically, remember that we are coming into a truly gorgeous time where we are able to witness the beauty of change by watching the colors from the trees emerge when we take the moment to stop and see.
The other day, I was reminded that we all have the same amount of time, and that the gift is in our own decision making of what we choose to do with it. Seems like a no brainer but It was a good reminder as I was mentally bracing for the return to walking through the doors of school and lamenting the loss of Summer days (just being honest).
With that said, upon waking up these past few days, I’ve been taking the time to do an internal measure of the wants and needs that often get silenced once the call of the work day chimes and the email vault opens. Rather than letting those things drift away after the work day, I’ve been making the time to slot those wants and needs in and you know what? They might not be large or profound things, but serving their call has made a profound shift within. I don’t know about you but I sometimes forget to fill my own bucket!
The call to be still and know by noticing aides us in letting the sands of our mind settle so that we can see more clearly through the water. We all need the quiet moments to navigate more thoughtfully and kindly towards ourselves through every day.
