This past week I had the honor of watching the seniors of our district walk through their sister elementary and middle schools. It was a blessed thing to witness as the ‘littles’ saw the ‘big kids’ walking through their schools with their caps and gowns on while the graduates got to travel back in time to where they ‘began’ their schooling. There was no lack of wonder lost in the time gap between them.
Growth is an amazing thing and happens in so many different ways. Every day as we walk our paths both on and off the mat, we are humbled, confounded, confronted and amazed by the lessons learned, connections made and experiences gained.
Just as learning doesn’t end at the close of school, it also doesn’t stop when we flip the switch to Summer, flip flops and high season. It merely changes. Our mat may morph into waiting in longer lines at grocery stores or sharing space on a once cold and wind swept beach. Our practice may turn into practicing flexibility as our individual schedule changes. It could look like taking the extra moment to pause to let someone take a miraculously daring left hand turn, or feeling the discomfort of things feeling different in the same place.
As we flow into Summer, we invite you to be both joyous and curious of how things either titillate or tweak us. Why? Because the noticing, inquiring and wondering in the ways in which we proceed are where the teaching moments lie.
We encourage you to choose love in all actions!
Love,
Your Friends at TYC
