We’ve been blessed with some incredible weather over the past couple of days. On one such day, I loaded up the bikes and children and parked behind TYC to travel the heart of Falmouth- The Shining Sea Bike Path, all the way to its end in Woods Hole.
Along our way we saw bogs, wayward chickens, chipmunks, and people out walking, biking and running. We heard the whizz of cyclist passing, birds chirping and cars accelerating and decelerating. We smelled the sweetness of the flowers, the greenness of the trees and the salt in the air as we drew closer to the water. We were traveling completely attuned to our feelings and sensations. As we crossed at Oyster Pond road, the sight of the rock piles beckoned us to stop and stay a while.
When we saw them, we felt the magnitude of meditation that was put into each cairn as rocks of all shapes and sizes were stacked just so against the landscape of open sky and crashing waves. These cairns serve as landmarks of things, people or places remembered, the guidepost to a village, or the reminder that there are places to shelter for safety, wellness, balance and peace.
While there are multitude of meanings for these structures, we invite you to see them and honor them as signposts to yourself to make time each day to heed the call homeward to yourself. At TYC, we are here to serve you, sit by you and travel with you as we each make our way home. We welcome you to see us as a landmark for safe travels into the undiscovered territories within yourself.
We look forward to each day we open our doors to invite you in!
With Love,
Your Friends at TYC
