This week brings the observance of school staycation and Earth Day. Both celebrate the need to take the time to bow to the normally frantic pace of our lives to observe a bit more space and a realignment to purpose.
Our current events bring a profound spin to this time. We hope for the peace and safety of households with children as they both embrace and navigate for a week sans meetings and schoolwork that would normally keep them pre-occupied. We encourage families with teens to partake of Olivia’s free, weekly Zoom class as a means of providing them practical tools to ground themselves. We encourage parents to carve out the space for self-care (heck we encourage everyone to do that!) as a means to support yourselves as well as to provide an example to your kiddos that taking care of yourselves is an important part of life!
This Wednesday, observe Earth Day by participating in Earth Day events online and at home. If you are feeling upset by the current Shelter-In-Place, remind yourself of the silver lining of your selfless efforts. You are not only protecting yourself and others, you have also been helping Mother Earth! Since our region’s ordeal began, air pollution has decreased in the Northeast by 30%. This is a profound shift that occurred with the commitment of each one of you and each one of us.
Together we can make it through profoundly difficult times and do great things.
We love and appreciate you-
