Here we are at the beginning of month three of this epic journey. Despite the lengthy announcements early this week of our state’s plan to re-open, the one clear and truly joyous announcement is that we are still here!
Earlier today, our TYC team of staff and teachers met to connect and brainstorm. What resonated clearly was the determination, consideration, and creativity in thinking around how to keep ourselves fresh and ready to serve you with the same quality and commitment we always have.
We’ve all been wading through our emotional energy lulls and spikes, Zoom breakdowns and wonderings of what will come next. We are all in this together. Funny enough, the Zoom breakdown this weekend offered the best perspective: It is inevitable that things fall apart. Things get messy. Check for updates. (No, seriously, update if Zoom prompts you to update!) On the non-jokey and emotional end of things, the best way to check for your internal updates is not as easy as pressing a button, but rather, in taking the time to let yourself sit with pain, fear and anxiety in the same way you would dance with joy, -honestly and gently.
“The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.”
-Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times
In the coming weeks, please check the schedule for the most up to date reflection of our schedule. We are constantly sitting-with and modifying towards the needs of our community and its beloved instructors.
We know that the weeks ahead won’t always be smooth, but we do know that we always want to walk it with you!
With Love-
Your TYC Tribe
