Elaine is a physical therapist, yoga and meditation teacher whose classes and workshops have been described as fun and nurturing. She specializes in working with clients with balance deficits and physical limitations. Elaine encourages her students to listen to their bodies, be curious with their yoga practice and challenge themselves in safe and supportive ways. Her approach is relaxed and gentle. Elaine is passionate about the healing benefits of a consistent yoga practice and her goal is to make this practice accessible to all. Elaine holds a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Simmons College and completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at the Sanctuary Yoga Studio in Plymouth in 2013. She is currently enrolled in a 300 hour advanced Yoga teacher training at Down Under School of Yoga in Boston. She is a certfied meditation teacher and also certified in Reiki level 2.

I’ve been a “regular” in Elaine Cody’s class, Gentle Yoga for EVERY Body, for about 2 years, first in the series classes at the studio, then transitioning to the Zoom format. The Gentle Yoga class allowed me to get back into exercising after a period without much. I love the way this class is designed with a purposeful beginning-middle-end. I am continually amazed that it is always different, and that working on one posture actually helps me with another. I must admit that I am a bit clumsy in exercise, and so I really appreciate good, clear, verbal cues…. Elaine is so exceptional at this! The class continues to be a good fit for me because many pose variations are offered, and as I improve my flexibility and strength I can move into the more challenging variations.
