I always feel like after Halloween life starts to move at a frightening pace as the candy aisle jumps two holidays ahead and ads for Black Friday sales begin to cycle over the airways. It’s a challenge to stay present when lists, and calendars begin to fill.
This past weekend, on the cusp of more time away for work, my husband looked forlornly past his cup of coffee trying to negotiate his to-do list in a Tetris like manner in his head. I asked him what he needed and he replied, ‘a hug’.
After we bear hugged, I suggested we take a walk to get the sun on our skin. As our bodies moved along the path I could hear him exhale and after a couple more steps we began to talk. It’s a funny thing when knowing another morphs into unspoken synchronicity, but I’ve noticed moreso lately how the busyness misaligns us when we count on what is unsaid. With that in mind, our noticing of the leaves and sky led to sharing what had been turning in our heads and hearts. As we stopped to observe the expanse of the lake in front of us we turned towards one another and stood observing one another as we had done to the nature surrounding us. It was a shared time that re-filled and refueled us.
It’s not often that the word intimacy is mentioned in the emotional sense, but boy is it important. Intimacy speaks to a shared relationship with one another and one’s self. It points to the willingness to be seen and heard for whatever and wherever we are with a level of trust that emerges when we are ready.
As we travel these last few months, we urge you to allow for more time to be with yourself, for your self, and there for those whom you love; -because truly, in this topsy-turvy world, we need all of the hugs and all of the moments to feel courageously tender and not alone.
In addition to our weekly classes, this weekend provides us with two unique events to intimately engage with seeing and acknowledging the light and power of our souls. These events will show is the importance of this work and our yogic studies to find and maintain our wellness and vibrance. This Friday, make space to attend Jackie’s Meditation and Mediumship workshop. On Saturday, take the time to sit with Dr. Sat Bir S. Khalsa, Ph.D as he shares his expansive work and perspective with our tribe.
Now is the time to see and be seen.
Intimacy= Into me I see.
Intimacy= Into you I see.
Intimacy= Together, we are one.
We look forward to seeing and being seen with you!
With Love,
Your Friends at TYC
