CHAIR YOGA
Come explore the many benefits of yoga. Experience the ways yoga can improve posture, mobility, balance, strength, flexibility, mood, sleep and quality of life. Using the tools you have at hand – your breath and mindfulness as well as props such as the wall, a chair and blocks - we will individualize a yoga practice to suit your needs. While most of the practice is planned sitting in a chair, some standing poses will also be offered. These can be adapted to sitting as needed. Learn ways to modify and also to challenge your yoga practice. Chair yoga can be beneficial for all! Chairs, mats and props are available at the studio.
DEEP STRETCH AND RELAX
This class will focus on deep stretching, releasing and starting to gently wake up some of those chronically tight areas in your body. You will hone in on working with the connective tissue (fascia). Sometimes poses will be held for longer times, sometimes a gentle standing flow may be incorporated. Great for you if you have been injured, have had surgeries or are actively working to heal your body, as well as if you just need a good stretch or are tight from strength training. No yoga experience necessary.
ENERGY MEDICINE YOGA
Start your day, getting the energy flowing your way! Energy Medicine Yoga® is an integrative practice, uniting the ancient healing methods of energy medicine and the time-honored tradition of yoga. This magical union works to align and balance the body’s nine energy systems, activating its natural healing intelligence. By focusing on your body as pure energy, you are empowered to transform and flow through life-radiant, whole and at peace.
FLEX & FLOW
Combining Flex (resistance training) and Flow (breath-centered yoga practice) allows you to increase bone density, strengthen muscles, and improve flexibility and balance. This class involves resistance training with light weights, bands or bodyweight and higher repetitions as well as mobility, stretching, and playful and functional movement. No prior weightlifting or yoga experience needed. You are welcome exactly as you are.
GENTLE YOGA FOR EVERY BODY
A slow paced, gentle yoga class that integrates strengthening, stretching and balance poses with pranayama and meditation. This class is appropriate for those who can move up and down from the floor. Transitions are minimal and a chair can be used as needed. Modifications are given and students are encouraged to explore mindful movement and to work at their own pace. Taught by physical therapist Elaine Cody.
HATHA YOGA
A morning hatha yoga session is an ancient ritual to start the day. Class will begin with a short meditation, followed by some easy Pranayama, warming up the body with sun salutations. Next we’ll move through a sequence of asanas, ending with a relaxation.
This is not a class for beginners. It will challenge your body and mind. You will raise your energy through an intense sequence of asanas and vinyasas, including inversions and hand balances. Yves will guide you safely in a progressive way accessible for all intermediate practitioners.
HEATED FLOW
Heated Flow is a breath-centered, energetic vinyasa practice that allows you to cultivate a deeper connection to your physical, emotional, and mental bodies. Incorporating creative sequencing, breathwork and meditation, this class will be playful, healing and balancing. Through repetition and experimentation, you will gain mobility and strength, and learn to more accurately self-assess as a mover. The room will be heated between 80-85 degrees. You are welcome exactly as you are.
JUST STRETCHING
Join Yves for an hour dedicated to stretching - to increase mobility, prevent injuries, reduce back pain, and improve your flexibility. Discover techniques and poses, using props and straps, to stretch the whole body in a gentle and deep way - so that every body can find that spot, that limit, where it is intense AND comfortable.
Gain with NO pain, using your breath, and developing mindfulness. This stretching class is open to all. No previous yoga experience necessary.
KUNDALINI YOGA AND MEDITATION
This energizing class includes a specific set of postures, breathwork and meditation. You will work on raising as well as grounding your energy. Kundalini yoga has profound and subtle effects on all the systems in your body, including the endocrine and nervous systems, which can then help balance your emotional and physical bodies. In a world that can sometimes throw you off balance it is necessary to have some tools and techniques to help you regain your footing. Kundalini Yoga is a technology that can help you navigate life. This class is for all levels—modifications will always be offered.
MODERATE VINYASA
This class offers a rejuvenating Vinyasa flow designed to ground you and create space within your body and mind. This moderate-level class seamlessly blends dynamic flow with intentional breathwork, helping you to find stability and calm. This class is perfect for those looking to deepen their practice, find balance, and leave feeling refreshed and centered. All levels are welcome, with modifications offered to suit your needs.
QIGONG WITH GUIDED MEDITATION
Qigong, like yoga, is an ancient mind body practice that utilizes breath, gentle movement, and awareness to create a more harmonious connection between mind, body, and spirit. Qigong is easy to learn and offers benefits like less stress and more energy. The first 40 minutes will be spent practicing Qigong, then you will be lead through a guided meditation followed by deep relaxation. This class is appropriate for those brand new to Qigong as well as experienced folks. If you enjoy gentle yoga you might appreciate what Qigong offers.
RELAXING AND MEDITATIVE YIN
Evening Yin invites deep stretch and relaxation with a series of longer held, floor-based poses. In yin yoga poses are typically held for 2-5 minutes, offering space to explore meditative themes as the physical and energetic benefits of the practice unfold in the body. This class is a lovely way to invite more ease into all aspects of your life and to feel grounded for the week ahead. All are welcome.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
This class is the perfect antidote to alleviate the layers of stress stored in the body. Slow down, quiet the mind and allow the body to unwind – finding a place of deep rest and stillness. This class will replenish, nourish and leave you feeling calm and relaxed. This class is appropriate for all levels.
SLOW FLOW
This class will provide yogis of all levels the opportunity to explore the connection between breath, movement and meditation. Variations and modifications will be provided so that you can practice in a way that best fits you. This class is most accessible for those who can move up and down from the floor with relative ease and confidence. You are encouraged to practice at your own pace with a sense of curiosity and gentleness.
