It has been a beautiful albeit rainy Summer full of welcoming friends and family to enjoy the magic of where we live. At this time of year when the winds pick up, the daylight fades a bit earlier and the tempo begins to shift, a feeling of momentary weariness and nostalgia settles in amidst setting aside the spare towels. We feel that change is near and it can sometimes be as unsettling as it can be invigorating.
It’s a time of as much shedding as it is a time of beginning to gather stores and energy for the shorter months ahead.
We invite you to take the time to honor and notice these moments with as much care and curiosity as those that seem more sparkly. The nature of both are a part of us all-light and dark, stars and earth. It’s a glorious thing to be alive and to feel all the feels.
We encourage you to land on your mat and fall in love with everything that makes you tick.
With Love,
Your Friends at TYC
“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.”
