Hello Dear Friend-
We hope that last week brought you comfort and joy!
We know that since last Thursday, there has been an uptick of emails and ads urging you to surge and get swept into the maddening pace of s the holidays so we will recommend the exact opposite!
You may have noticed the common thread of making the time to pause in many of the Meet the Teacher spotlights. In this swiftly accelerating world, it has become even more evident that we need to gravitate towards questioning and opposing the call to busyness in order to find our way home with our inner compass. This can be difficult to achieve when the information is coming in too quickly with no time to process. We invite you to not only meet yourself on the mat, but to also greet with welcomed creativity the opportunity to do one thing at a time.
Try taking the ‘multi’ out of the task or action.
You may find it to be the best present…presence.
LOVE AFTER LOVE
by Derek Walcott
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
With Love, Always-
Your Friends at TYC
